I will say this was our third trip to Cocktales. The first time we went to their wing night, they were out of wings. The second time, they changed their wing night. So I guess third time is a charm, although the charm was lacking. It is a definite townie bar. There is seating all around the bar and a couple tables away from the bar. As a heads up, smoking is allowed, but thankfully, the doors were open so there was plenty of airflow. They had some craft beer to choose from, which is nice. The bartender/waitress was always attentive and on hand for service and the wings arrived pretty fast too. I don’t know why, but I just felt out of place the whole time. It was obviously filled with regulars, all smoking. Even the bartender was smoking a cigar behind the bar. It was definitely interesting. One positive was after we finished our forty wings, we got a round of applause from the people at the bar. Like I said, it was definitely interesting.

These weren’t skimpy, but they weren’t outrageously large either. It was a typical, average hot wing that you would expect to get. Price was $0.45.

Nothing outrageous here – You’ve got all your usual flavors and nothing outside the box. It was nice that the bartender let us mix the honey mustard and hot sauce together, as it is not actually on the menu.

    Wing Taste (x2): 4

They did not allow orders of 5, so we combined all out orders. We got Hot, Hot Garlic, BBQ, and Hot Honey Mustard. The Hot were pretty good. It was a very good hot with some additional seasoning and herbs added. I enjoy the taste of them. In addition to that, the Hot Garlic were good too. It was minced garlic from a jar, but still enjoyed it with the Hot Sauce. The BBQ were not so good. I’m not a huge fan of Barbeque to begin with, and these did not change my mind. They were very bland in taste. The Hot Honey Mustard were also just all right. It had a slight tang from the honey mustard, but they were bland too. If you get wings from here, stick to the Hot and Hot Garlic.

The atmosphere at Cocktaless is one of a place that caters to tough old guys. That was strictly who was there. Men who just got finished with their shift and that go in seemingly every day. They were pleasant to sit next to. It was a boring evening in there but I thought that was going to happen. Our server/bartender was also nice. You could get the feeling that you might feel uncomfortable in there but just eat through it and you will be fine.

    Wing Size: 5

The size of the wings at Cocktales were descent for the price. For their wing night, it was 45 cents a wing and they bulky. But their certainly have been bigger wings for less of the price that we have encountered, that’s for sure.

They only had the standard flavors you usually get. Hot, bbq, honey mustard and hot garlic. You could combine those flavors to make any combination if you like.

For starters, you have to order them in orders of 10. I always hate not being able to get orders in orders of 5. So we got 10 hot, 10 bbq, 10 hot honey mustard and 10 hot garlic. The hot were simply alright. Not much happening with them. The bbq were boring and it was the usual bbq sauce that4 you get at places, something I am really starting to dislike. We asked to mix their hot with the honey mustard and that turned out to be descent but nothing stellar. It was the usual honey mustard taste, nothing creative. Lastly, the hot garlic, were the best and the hot seemed to pop more with these wings. The garlic added good balance.
