The R Bar and Grill has the craziest flavors and best wings around. The amount of wings they offer is unparalleled, including such flavors as Cucumber Wasabi, Chocolate Covered Bacon, and Kickin’ Soy Ranch. There is bound to be a unique flavor that catches your eye. With new flavors being added all the time, it keeps you coming back. The members of the staff are always friendly, plus The R Bar is going to be upgrading to a larger location, so keep an eye out for the move. You will definitely not be disappointed.

2. Diskin’s

Diskin’s is a smaller bar located in the Minooka area of Scranton, but don’t let the size fool you because they really pack a punch when it comes to their wings. They don’t have a huge selection of flavors, but they more than make up for it with the size of the wings and taste of their wing sauces.

These guys may be new to the wing scene, but I love what they’ve done so far. Although it may look like they don’t offer many flavors, they switch it up each week with their selection. They do only serve wings on their wing night, which is a Tuesday, so be sure to stop in and see what new and unique flavors they are offering. In addition to having one of the best beer selections in the area, they have an outdoor, backyard section where you can enjoy delicious brews and tasty wings while taking in some fresh, summer air.

If people are talking about some of the best wings in the area, it’s almost guaranteed someone will bring up Town Tavern. These guys are well known for their wings in NEPA for a good reason, the wings are delicious. Town Tavern offers a decent selection of flavors, but you can’t go wrong with the plain hot, which is one of the best plain hot wings The NEPA Wing Men ever had.

5. The Anthracite Cafe

Anthracite Grill is a wonderful place to go with a group of friends for tasty wings and a cold beer. Not only does Anthracite provide one of the largest options of wing flavors in Wilkes-Barre, but they also have a beer list to match. With unique flavors like Fu Manchu and Cactus Jack, you’re bound to find something different that tickles your fancy. Although they do have plenty of seating in the dining room, be sure you make a reservation because the place gets pretty busy on wing night.

The Chicken Coop has been around the block in NEPA. After having to relocate a couple times, they have finally nested in Wilkes-Barre along the Boulevard. Regardless of where the Chicken Coop has been, they are always bound to have a following for the wings they make. It’s a great sports bar that offers an eclectic selection of wings that will leave you more than satisfied.

7. Smiler’s

While travelling along the main street of Dickson City, you have probably passed the unassuming corner bar of Smiler’s without a second thought. You have made a huge mistake for missing this gem. All their wings are great, but the Teriyaki and Asian Ginger wings are some of the best around. Ask your waitress for all the flavors, as they are not specifically listed on the menu. If you’re into martinis and wings, this should be your go to spot. And if, for some crazy reason, you don’t like wings, Smiler’s has a large menu with other delicious food for you to choose.

If you’re looking for a nice restaurant to sit outside while you’re eating some wings, Andy Gavin’s is the place for you. They have a huge, wrap-around porch with seating as well as a small patio section for outdoor dining. This is another place that takes pride in their beer selection by offering a good variety of craft beers. They are also known for their homemade chips, which come in many flavors. And I will let you in on a little secret; all the chip flavors can be put on hot wings if you’re feeling adventurous. The NEPA Wing Men recommend sticking with the regular hot wing options, though.

9. The Peanut Bar

People in NEPA love to use Carbondale as the butt of their jokes, but there is at least one place that is worth checking out: The Peanut Bar. It’s a nice bar with great service and delicious wings. The Peanut Bar offers an interesting flavor called the Garbage wing, which is a combination of all the wing flavors. Although some patrons may be turned off by this idea, it’s a wing that works and has amazing taste. If you live in the Carbondale area, this is a place you need to check out.

Another fantastic wing place in the Minooka area, The Penalty Box really knows how to make some wings. With a long bar and plenty of seating, you shouldn’t have an issue finding a seat on their wing night. The interesting flavors they offer are great on all kinds of level. If you’re a fan of the super spicy, try the Habanero Ranch. It’s an outrageously hot sauce with incredible flavor. Not all the flavors are on the menu so ask your friendly waitress what special wings they are serving when you go.
